On September 12, 2019, Notre Dame tragically lost Jenna Nicole Hernan ’10 who died after a car accident in California. Classmates of Jenna desire to create a scholarship for a current 9th grader who is interested in pursuing a medical career to pay tribute to Jenna and her passion for medicine.
After studying at Notre Dame, Jenna attended Hunter College. From Hunter, she went on to Emory University where she studied nursing and became a midwife. Her desire was to help the less fortunate and she recently worked as a midwife in Puerto Rico. Jenna was an organ donor and engaged to be married.

There will be a memorial Mass for Jenna on Wednesday, November 27th at 8:15 a.m., and we will celebrate the Thanksgiving liturgy here at Notre Dame in the Dolan Center in memory of Jenna.
