Jenna Nicole Memorial Scholarship

Jenna Nicole Memorial Scholarship

On September 14, 2019, Notre Dame tragically lost Jenna Nicole Hernan ’10, who passed away following a car accident in California. She was 26 years old and an organ donor. Her decision to be an organ donor helped save the lives of five other individuals at the time of her passing.

Jenna had recently graduated from nursing school with two masters’ degrees and was applying for jobs to be a midwife for expectant mothers in low-income communities. Her desire was to help the less fortunate and she had recently worked as a midwife in the Dominican Republic. She credited Notre Dame for much of her personal and professional growth and always wanted to give back to the city she loved dearly and the school that made her who she was. To that end, and to celebrate her beautiful life, Jenna’s family members have created a scholarship opportunity for those students interested in pursuing a career in nursing to pay tribute to Jenna and her passion for helping others.

We invite the entire Notre Dame community to join Jenna’s family and friends by making a donation in her honor. You may make your gift online by selecting one of the sponsorship levels below, mail in a check using the below instructions, or make a wire/ACH transfer by contacting Elizabeth Bixenman at bixenmane@cheznous.org directly.
