New York Students:

Admission to Notre Dame is based on performance on the TACHS (Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools) and on the basis of prior school records. Notre Dame’s TACHS code is 209.

Students may list Notre Dame as their first, second or third choice on the TACHS. Scholarship consideration is given to students who list Notre Dame as first, second or third choice, with a preference for first and second choices. For students taking the TACHS, there is no separate application form required.

Transcripts/Applicant Record

For students attending a Catholic elementary in the Archdiocese of New York or the Diocese of Brooklyn, your Applicant Record will automatically be sent to Notre Dame. For students who do not attend a Catholic school, you will want to provide your principal/teacher or guidance/high school placement counselor with the Applicant Record form found in the TACHS booklet or on the TACHS website. They can complete this form with your grades from middle school and mail it to Notre Dame. This year, the due date is December 11, 2020. We suggest you provide your principal/counselor with a stamped envelope addressed to Notre Dame School:

New Jersey Students:

Recently, the way to apply to Notre Dame School has been updated. Since the Archdiocese of Newark announced it will no longer be able to provide COOP-HSPT scores to the high schools located outside of the Archdiocese of Newark, students who wish to apply to Notre Dame School will no longer be required to take the COOP-HSPT. Here are the steps to take to apply to Notre Dame School:

Required
1. Complete the online application ONLY for students currently attending New Jersey elementary/middle schools. Applications are open from September 9, 2020 to November 30, 2020.

2. Please request that your elementary or middle school send Notre Dame a copy of your Applicant Record/Transcript from 6th, 7th and the first marking period of 8th grade, by December 4, 2020. We suggest you provide your teacher/principal/counselor with a stamped envelope addressed to Notre Dame School.

3. Records must include the results of recent standardized tests (eg. Terra Nova, Iowa Assessments, ISEE, ERB, or equivalent), MAP Growth test, or NJ State test scores from 6th grade in Math and ELA.
