Department: Science
Seeking to use his research experiences to guide the next generation of thinkers, Mr. Curt Sankar is committed to making an education in the sciences approachable and rewarding. Mr. Sankar is also acutely aware of the importance of organizing and presenting information to an audience, and makes it a priority to engender in his learners a desire to analyze scientific findings with the goal of presenting critical analyses to broad audiences.
Mr. Sankar is an advocate of STEM learning, seeking to bring opportunities in medical education, internships, and research opportunities to his students, in particular those who have been historically underrepresented in these fields. To this end, he was involved in a partnership with Einstein Medical College that saw two of his students complete coursework and obtain their license to become Emergency Medical Technicians, all before starting their college education. He also is affiliated with the STEP program, which seeks to provide students with access to supplemental education with their coursework in addition to academic enrichment with elective courses.
Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences (concentration in Biotechnology), conferred from NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and a Master’s Degree in Biology (with research into cellular responses to viral infection), conferred from Queens College of CUNY, Mr. Sankar seeks to leverage his teaching experiences at the college level to guide his students toward a fruitful future.
