School Profile
Notre Dame School of Manhattan is a private, Catholic college preparatory school for young women. The enrollment is 360 academically talented and ethnically diverse girls. Since its founding in 1912, education at Notre Dame has been characterized by close, family-like relationships between student and faculty. The educational program at Notre Dame is college preparatory and directed toward the development of each student as a whole person. We seek to help meet the needs of each student intellectually, socially and spiritually. One hundred percent of our graduates are accepted into four-year colleges and universities. Each member of our current senior class, which numbers 83, plans to continue this tradition. Notre Dame is accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS). The student body is culturally diverse with a population that is 21% Multiracial, 16% Hispanic, 8% Black, 6% Asian, and 49% White.

ACADEMICS AND GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Notre Dame provides a full college preparatory education for all students. A Notre Dame diploma is merited by the satisfactory completion of a secondary course of study totaling 29.5 units. The passing grade in each subject is 70%. Grade Point Average is based upon a weighted grading system. Weighted grades are awarded based upon a course’s level of difficulty. Notre Dame School does not rank its students.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT AND HONORS CLASSES
Enrollment in AP and Honors courses is selective and based on academic performance and teacher recommendations. Students are not permitted to take more than three AP/Honors courses per year if there is an option.
